A Rather Detailed Update

May 21, 2010 in ,

Today, I’m going to give you guys a little (well it’s actually very long... but whatever, you get the point) update on what’s been going on lately, since I haven’t really been blogging much about my life and stuff. This is going to be a mightily long post, so prepare yourselves! Get a cup of coffee (or a nice smoothie...), sit back, and read!

I’m working on this little story, which shouldn’t be more than 15 pages, called Refresh, which is basically written in the POV of a 16 (his age might change, though) year old boy, who realizes he’s in love with his childhood best friend (whom no longer talks to him). He tries to figure out why she stopped talking to him, while also trying to work out if she too, has feelings for him. It’s pretty much just a light, happy story which I hope that you’ll enjoy once I finish. I’ll probably post it in parts, since it’s too long to read all at once. I’d post a sneak peek, but unfortunately the writing might look amateurish and undescriptive unless you read it as a whole. Being that I was writing in the POV of a 16 year old boy (who don’t tend to be a very descriptive group of people), I kept the description and etc extremely simple and cut it to a minimal usage of fancy words and phrases (if any at all). I focused instead, on catching the words how the character would think them; the nerves, the excitement, and all of that. As I might have mentioned before, I like getting to know my characters.

At the same time, I’m attempting to write something that’s not entirely my style, but I once did something similar, so maybe it’ll work out fine. It doesn’t have much of a storyline since it’s just a scenario, but it’s one that’s supposed to make people think a bit more. It should just be about 5 pages longs, tops. Right now I’m just pushing it aside because it’s just more of an experiment, but when I feel I have all the words and inspiration I need, I’ll write, finish, and hopefully post it here if I deem it worthy. I haven’t really gotten much of it down, so I’m just hoping it’ll be done by 2011. And I may or may not have an inkling of another idea for something else forming in an old, dusty corner of my mind...

Also, an update on my new template: it’s finished and works fine, but I’m having second thought on the design, so I might redo that. The template itself is almost ready, though, so I just have to replace the images, text colors, and etc. I have certain tweaks in it that I still want to add in, but the main thing is there. Depending on whether I decide to change the design, it’ll probably be out mid - late June, but don’t quote me, because knowing me, I’ll probably delay it...

Something else that you might want to know, is that I’ve finally realized something: I’m obsessed with commas. That’s right, I said it! I’m obsessed with using commas. Lot’s, and lot’s of commas. I like commas, very much so. Useful little things, those punctuations. Is there such thing as punctuation rehab? I think I might need to go to one. Commas are very addicting... It’s like, gosh, I don’t know how to describe it! But commas are very addictive, once you use them a little too much.

Greyson Chance’s also someone I’ve been, ahem, thinking about a lot lately. ;) I mean, seriously, Paparazzi was pretty awesome!! Boy’s got me cougaring. So not good. I’ve also found another awesome singer: Shayne Ward. His song Breathless is really good, and he’s got the most beautiful eyes ever. I can’t really say I’m fangirling over him, because I just know 2 of his songs, but I’m liking him. Sadly, Breathless (and his other songs, too, I think) is unavailable on iTunes in the USA... You can only buy it from the UK, though I didn’t checked Amazon...

Speaking of celebs and stuff, a couple of weeks ago, I became a blogger for ArchuletaFanScene. They’re an awesome fanbase filled with awesome people! :D And, as if you hadn’t already figured it out, it’s a David site filled with all things David.

I got my hair cut yesterday, too! It’s fun getting your hair cut... Until you go home, blink, rub your eyes, look in the mirror, and realize you look like a 9-year-old. But anyway, here’s a pic! You can’t really see how short it is, or anything else, actually, but... well, I do really like my fringe. And the cut, of course, except for the fact that the length makes me a couple of years younger…

Well, this has been a pretty long post, and your eyes are probably twitching at staring at this page for too long, so I’ll head off now. If I don’t blog for a couple of days, please excuse moi, but I’ll try my best to think up of some interesting things to blog about. I promise I’ll blog at least once a week. If you’ve got something that you’d like to hear me about, please leave a comment, and I just might blog about it!
