You Promised Me
A/N: Wrote this a couple of days ago, after I looked through some old stuff… I don't think it's the best poem I've ever written, but I like it, for now, anyway. The stanzas are a little longer than I usually do, but hey, it's called free form. If you don't like it, don't go hatin' on me, or the poem. I appreciate constructive criticism, though.
You said you’d always be here for me.
Promised –
You promised it to me,
My love.
Always, you promised me –
Promised.
Do you even know what that means?
It means, that you will always be here.
It’s funny how now,
I wonder if you know the meaning,
Because you broke that promise,
Without giving it so much
As a second thought.
You loved me,
And you told me so.
I believed you, too,
Because I honestly believed
That you did.
I know that you don’t remember
Your promise.
That one,
Or the multitudes of others.
You’ve forgotten;
You’ve completely forgotten
Our promises.
