Philippa Fisher's Fairy Godsister - Liz Kessler

In all honestly, the reason that I picked up this particular book was because of the color scheme of the cover. It reminded me of Where Rainbows End, and so this book became another to add to my library.

Philippa is a 11-year-old girl who still secretly believes in fairies. When her best friend Charlotte moves away to the country, she wants nothing more than to have a fairy godmother. Then comes Daisy, a bad-tempered girl who just happened to be assigned to department 3W - the 3 Wishes department, and the person she has to work on is Philippa.

This book is one that I probably won’t read again, but it was really amusing, and it had a light feel that was only weighed down by fairy dust. It probably would've made my top 10 a couple of years ago. A gift for your niece, perhaps?
