Shanghai 2010 | Part 2

Day 3: As I mentioned before, we went to Wuzhen on this day, but I didn’t include one very important fact. It was the 5th of October, David’s album release day. I woke up bright and early, though it took a good few seconds to sink in what that day actually was. After some half-asleep mumblings of my iPod, I finally heard it. Falling Stars was the first song I heard. Mind you, I had to have the restraint of Clark Kent in the week before that to not listen to the studio version. Just as I was already certain of, Falling Stars was absolutely beautiful. As I listened to the rest of the album song by song, I just got higher and higher... It was wonderful to have it to listen to for the rest of the trip.

Day 4: We were supposed to go to see this Chinese doctor which I saw a couple of years back (he moved back to Shanghai), but there was some mix up, so we didn't get to see him on that day… But we wandered around on the way back, then got kinda lost. Well, not lost, but we just didn't know how to get to the other street… But anyway, I was laughing the whole time, because 2 policemen followed us to take us there haha. It was kinda awesome. Then we had dinner with a couple of my dad's old friends...

Day 5: The plan for this day was to go to Yiyuan, Madame Tussauds, then to go to the Bund, which we did. Yiyuan was basically wandering around, trying to find that street that everyone kept saying had a ton of food. We did find it, eventually, and had some lunch there... It probably doesn’t sound that great, but it was actually pretty fun! Then it was off to Madame Tussauds, where I went crazy trying to look for a certain someone whom I didn’t find. I did, however, find Leonardo DiCaprio! After that, we went to the Bund! It was one of my favorite parts of the entire trip. I could see a huge part of the city from where we were, and everything was just gorgeous… I'm still editing pictures, so I'll probably put a few up in a couple of days.

Day 6: So we did get to see that doctor after all on this day, and it went great! After I got over the smell of the herbs. It's not so much the smell of them that bother me, than it is where I used to smell them. Shudder. But anyway, saw the doc, and got some herbs… Then it was off the the Pearl tower! We went to the top ball first, then the floor below that. The second one had a glass floor, so the view was beautiful! I saw where we were looking at from the Bund just below us.

Day 7: Ah, the real last day of the trip! We went to the Expo with my dad's friend and his dad, and we actually got there right when they opened. It was really crowded, though. The first stop was Japan, which we waited at for 4 hours… It wasn't too bad though, because I didn't really look at the time, and I was listened to David the whole time in my special The Other Side of Down playlist with a couple of other songs. So anyway, we finally when in, and it was pretty good! I mean, I wouldn't wait another 4 hours to see it again, but you get what I mean lol. After that, we went to a couple of other smaller places that we waited for about 10 minutes to get into. By the time we were done with all that, it was almost night, so we headed to this other side that had really pretty lights and stuff. That was absolutely gorgeous! I'm not sure where we were exactly, but we could see across a small lake/river to the Oil Pavilion. Then to end the day, we had some really good porridge… That might seem a little dull, but trust me, once you've tasted it, you'll know what the hype was all about.

Day 8: This was the last day of the trip, so I slept in really late (basically until it was almost time to leave lol) before we left.
