A/N: The article this week actually has two parts; a poem, and a short article. This is one of the first few times that I've written a poem for a specific purpose, so I hope you enjoy it. :)
Majestic beauty, in the depths of the wild
Where animals roam freely in their home,
Have started to fade.
Hunted for irrational reasons;
For ornaments in our concrete jungle.
Never satisfied, we plunder for more,
Hurting innocent creatures,
And destroying their homes,
Ruining more than we dare admit.
Have we so little
That we are forced to steal
From creatures trying only to survive?
We are causing beauty to fade into the mist,
And we have none but ourselves to blame.
This poem is about how there really is no good reason for poaching endangered animals and going into their habitats to wreck them. We already have so much, so why are we doing all this? It isn’t a necessity for us to have actual stuffed animals in our houses, don animal fur, or so many other things. We are killing them for things that we don’t even need. These animals are so beautiful, and so amazing, and yet, we are driving them to extinction. Let’s stop destroying them and their homes, and further the effort to protect them instead.
