More Words And An Idea
Somehow, I've managed to get in just over a thousand words in on Project 14 for three days in a row now. To be honest, I'm really surprised, because I didn't think I would be able to do it. The first day was an "oh, cool" kind of thing, the second was "it'd be nice to do it again," yesterday was "can I keep this up?", and today, and starting to become much more unsure if I really can keep on writing a thousand words a day. I know it isn't all that much for some people, but it's a lot for me, on one story, anyway. It would be really nice if I could write a thousand words each day from now on. If I do, I'll have over 90,000 words by the end of the year, which would be great. At that point, I probably would have finished my story, so I'd have another 6 months to do a major rewrite, and finish it entirely.
My word count is currently 18,740.
For the past couple of weeks, I've been sort of playing with this word in my head, and thinking it would be cool to use somehow as a title. But of course, I needed something to name, and since I didn't have any at that time, I sort of just put it in a dusty little corner of my brain. Last night, however, I got an idea - an idea for a book - that largely involves this word. This kind of feels like the feeling I had when I first got the idea for P14; far off, and alien, but if this is the same feeling, that means that this could work out. On the other hand, I'm really not out of danger with Project 14 yet, what with having written a mere 59 words today, so I don't know if either could work. The only thing I can do now is the same thing I did with P14, which is to wait it out. Think about it over and over, but push it away at the same time. If, by the time next week, I still like the idea and have some clue as to the storyline, then it can work.
