Young Writer's Awards 2011

Dec 13, 2011 in

Last year was the first Niexter awards, and this year, the second, though it isn't just the "Niexter awards" because it has been joined with a few other projects by NST, also for young people.

It was fun, and way bigger than it was yesterday! I met a lot of new friends, met people I know or have worked with before but haven't met in real life, and caught up with Niexters I already know. :) It was really great to meet everyone, and some of their parents too! They're awesome people to say the least.

The food (because you can't go without mentioning food) was yummy haha.

I gave a short speech, which went well I hope. I got two awards this year; one was Inspirational Thoughts for my column, Unwritten Thoughts, and the other was Best Editor's Message for the one I wrote in the Unsung Heroes issue, which was cool, so thank you very much.

There was some entertainment too, and I found out that one of my friends/team mates, Melina Victor, can sing really well! By "really," I do mean it. She covered a Michael Buble song.

The theme for this year was blue and white, and I don't think I've ever seen so many people in blue before! The staff was in red though, haha.

All in all, it was a fun event, and I had a great time. :D

PS. Hi Zarina! *waves* She's on my right in white and an awesome pose. She's awesome too haha. :)
