Dear David

Dear David,

Very soon now you leave to go on your Mission, and as you do so, you enter a new life – one that will pull you always from what you know now, and bring you to do many wonderful things you might not otherwise do. You just said that it’s only now hitting you, and truth be told, it hasn’t quite hit me.

One of my first ambitions was to become a Missionary, though at a few years old, I did not understand fully what that meant – the sacrifice, and the full immersement. Now you’re going to be a Missionary, and I’m so happy for you, and proud of you for taking up this challenge.

I hope you get to focus on what you’re going on your Mission to do – that you will accomplish everything that you hope for, and much more. Most importantly of all, I hope your relationship with our Heavenly Father is strengthened.

I know you’re going to touch so many more people’s lives, David; many more than you already have. It is going to be so amazing, and I look forward to that.

Especially so in the past few months, I have been praying for you each day, and I’ll continue to do so. It’s hard to find quite the right words to say all that I would like to say to you, and indeed I am not entire sure of them myself. But of some I know very clearly. You’ll never be alone, and you’ll always have love with you. God will be with you as well, as He always is, and I hope you will be able to feel His presence. You will also have my support here, right until you return, and for long after that.

I would like to share one of my family’s favorite verses with you. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

All the best,
