A Long Journey, A Wider View
Going to an airport often marks the beginning of an adventure, because it means that you’re going somewhere far from home. Airports are one of my favorite places to be in. They are vast pieces of architecture, filled with people who know exactly where they are headed. They have an air of adventure about them, and every time I enter an airport, I get the feeling that so many possibilities are lying open for me, just waiting to be seized.
Planes represent wanderlust for me, something I have had for a long while now. It is an intense desire to travel the world – to see more and experience different things. I always have great adventures starting from the moment I get on a plane, and even if I know what I am doing each day of the trip, things don’t usually according to plan, and it is probably best that they don’t. Life is so much more interesting with fun changes along the way!
I have been to some awesome places, but the thing about wanderlust is that a few places, even the greatest, are never enough. Once you start, it’s hard to stop. One of the things I would like to do is to spend a few months in different parts of the world, long enough to learn the culture, and way of life of the people who inhabit those places. To get a chance to immerse myself in various cities all over this world would truly be an unforgettable experience.
Traveling is not just something you do, but it changes a person. The things you see, hear, taste, and the people you meet all slowly change your view of life, or perhaps strengthen your conviction in what you believe in. Many a person have been out of their country, for education, simple enjoyment, or otherwise, and come back a different person.
For me, the more places I see, the more I yearn to go further. Whilst looking for something the other day, my mom found a postcard from Spain addressed to me. it was from a close uncle, telling me to work hard, so I can travel and see places too, and I plan to do just that.
